Founded in 1998, Mission Search International began as a recruiting and consulting company for Florida hospitals. We quickly became a leader in placing healthcare professionals throughout the US and have successfully completed searches/ engagements for major well-known hospitals as well as small community organizations.
We work with each of our clients and candidates to gain a thorough understanding of trends that affect their operations and/or skill sets within today’s ever-changing world. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
John Astrab, President/CEO Founding member of Mission Search, is a former Division President of Kforce. He specializes in new client development as well as staffing training and retention. With more than 24 years in the consulting and recruiting industry, John blends knowledge, hard work, energy and management experience to establish great client relationships. He has a track record of creating a successful team of recruiters throughout the U.S.
John has extensive experience in the recruiting industry, building and developing sales forces. He began as a buyer and manager of investment property for Prime Capital Corp. in Miami, Florida. Later, he became Division Vice President for Professional Buyer Guild in New Jersey, building and developing a sales force in life insurance and mutual funds, managing a work force of more than 100 people in five states.
As Division President and partner of Kforce for 14 years, he was responsible for opening the Healthcare, Pharmacy, Engineering, Sales and Marketing Manufacturing divisions. John has opened new offices in major markets in the U.S., overseeing 25 divisions.
John spends time volunteering and sits on the Board of Directors for the FBI Citizens Academy, is a Council Officer for the Gulfridge Council for the Boy Scouts of America, Executive Board member, Vice President Learning for Life Character Education Programs, in charge of Exploring, career education program for young people, Advisory Board member for J.A.K.E. – Juveniles Achieving Knowledge and Experience, Advisory Board member for the Franciscan Foundation for the Holy Land and member of the Knights of Columbus St. Ignatius of Antioch Church Council 7621.
In his spare time John likes to restore classic cars, go salt-water fishing and travel in his motor home.
Steve Parzen, Executive Vice President and Principal, founded Mission Search in 1998. Prior to founding Mission Search, Steve opened the Healthcare Division and served as the Division Vice President for Romac International, the predecessor corporation to Kforce. Before joining Romac/Kforce in 1990, he served for five years as the Director, Search Division and opened and developed the Allied Health Contract Division at StarMed Staffing, a national traveling nurse company (an Adecco company).
Prior to entering into the staffing world in 1985, Steve was the Owner/CEO for three Pacific Rim import/export and merchandising firms in Honolulu, Hawaii; Pacific Tropix, Triangle of Hawaii and Parzen & Associates.
Steve’s twenty-three years of experience in the healthcare staffing industry and extensive personal client network, together with his vision for the future of healthcare staffing, has provided Mission Search with a strong foundation for its dynamic growth. Steve is known for his enduring client relationships that have been fostered by his results-driven approach, coupled with his commitment to quality. His extensive marketing, merchandising and sales expertise has led to the development of numerous proprietary assessment and advertising tools that Mission Search has brought to the healthcare staffing marketplace such as Searchquest®, eMissionSearch® MissionSearch Direct® and Contingency Search Plus®.
In 2003, Steve was instrumental in identifying the Oncology/Radiation Oncology sector of healthcare as a primary target for Mission Search’s growth. Subsequently, Mission Search has experienced tremendous growth and success in this sector and has become a national leader in the Radiation Oncology Search and Staffing field.
Pete Dominici, Mr. Dominici has been the Chief Financial Officer of Mission Search International, Inc. since its formation.
From 1986 to 2001, Mr. Dominici served Kforce, Inc. (Tampa, Florida – formerly Romac International, Inc., NASDAQ symbol “KFRC”) in various executive roles including Operational Vice President (1999- April 2001), Chief Financial Officer (1986 – 1999), Secretary (1986 – 1997), Treasurer (1998 & 1999) and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors (1995 – 1997). During his tenure as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Dominici was responsible for Kforce, Inc.’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 1995 and Secondary Offerings in 1996 and 1997. During Mr. Dominici tenure at Kforce, Inc., the company grew from approximately three million ($3,000,000) in revenue in 1986 to nearly eight hundred million ($800,000,000) in revenue for fiscal year 2000.
From 1984 to 1986, Mr. Dominici was an Audit Manager for Pender, McNulty & Newkirk, a Tampa, Florida public accounting firm. From 1980 to 1983, Mr. Dominici was a Staff Accountant/Audit Manager for Urbach, Kahn & Werlin, a Albany, New York public accounting firm. Mr. Dominici passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 1981 and during his (7) years of public accounting experienced extensive audit, tax and public company reporting responsibilities.
Educational Background: Mr. Dominici has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Bryant College, Smithfield, R.I.
